Author: Smantha Watson

Nose job or rhinoplasty is a very effective way to reshape the nose. The desired results can be achieved after rhinoplasty, but it is not the case that you will have the desired appearance soon after the nose job surgery. The recovery of the surgery takes some time that varies for different patients. So many precautionary measures are there that must be considered by the patients in order to shorten the recovery time.

The head of the patient must be elevated after nose job surgery. The patients usually feel head-ache and pain in the nose, but it can be managed by taking the medication given by the surgeon. Due to swelling and bruising, the shape of the nose does not seem good, so swelling can be reduced by applying cold compresses.

The recovery after nose job surgery depends on how you follow the post operation instructions of the surgeon. Surgeons usually brief the patients before surgery about precautionary measures that patients have to follow, after surgery. If patients keep in mind all instructions of the surgeon then there are greater chances that they will recover soon.

During nose job recovery period, bleeding is seen usually, so the patients must avoid blowing the news. Stitches and nasal packing is removed after one or two weeks. Swelling of the nose usually disappears after two to three weeks, but the residual swelling might persist for a year or, so but it is not noticeable to other people.

Soon after the surgery, patients must avoid smoking because it slows down the healing process. By taking proper diet and taking complete rest, the patients can have speedy recovery. People who have undergone the nose job surgery sometimes feel better after three or four days and the can easily go out.

They can move outside if they have not any problem with the cast on their nose. The cast is usually removed after a week, or so. The black eyes are also a disturbing factor for some patients, but there is no need to worry about black eyes because they look better slowly with the passage of time.

To ensure good and healthy recovery, the patients must avoid taking part in sports activities for two weeks after surgery. They cannot put heavy weights. Traveling is also prohibited for a few weeks after rhinoplasty. The patients can use contact lenses soon after surgery, but if they want to use glasses, then the glasses must be taped to forehead or supported by cheeks for six weeks. The period for nose job recovery varies from patients to patients depending on the type of rhinoplasty and the work done.

Some people recover soon while others take some time to heal completely. It is always better to make your mind that you will have to be tolerant and have to follow some suggestions of the doctor for a particular period in order to enjoy the outcome of nose job surgery later on.
